Here slight variations on a common theme provide the look of a village to a wild garden in coastal Oregon. The variations in this case include slight differences in height and width, alternating the pitch of the roof from forward to back, and creating one house that is a double decker. These particular houses show the aging effects of the hard winter of rain and ocean air, and with each season will blend more and more into their surroundings. We’re told by the homeowner that each house attracted nesting birds the first spring after installation. The species of bird is unidentified.
